My Thoughts On . . . . Kiss Premium Eyelashes

Many people love having long & voluminous eyelashes but not all of us are lucky enough to have long luscious eyelashes. One way which has helped us create the illusion of longer eye lashes is by wearing fake eyelashes. But the problem is that applying them can be a royal pain (especially when you are just beginning and it takes you 2 hours). So Kiss has come with a solution to that. They have put a string which will simplify the application.  Here is a view of the variety of eyelashes they have.
While this is an amazing concept it does have one big flaw. The big flaw is that the string can only be used once. They are also assuming that everyones eye shape is similar. What if the pair of false eyelashes is too long and needs to be trimmed? Regardless of what side you have to cut you would cut the string off. Here is a zoom of a pair of the eyelashes:
I can not comment on the quality of the eyelash because I have not tried them. I would recommend that if you are solely buying these eyelashes because of the strings that you think about it twice. The reason I say this is because false lashes can be used more than once with the proper care. By doing this you are getting your moneys worth from your purchase . If you do not mind just wearing them once then go ahead and buy them.

*Side note: I did not buy any of these false eyelashes. I just saw them in Walgreen's & took pictures :D*

MAC Fashion Flower (Haul, Review & Swatches)

Today MAC's Fashion Flower collection came out. It had eye shadows, lipsticks, lip glosses, and beauty powders.

Eyeshadows: There are six eye shadows. Only three of which are new. I ended up getting two of the new shades which are Bows & Curtseys (Correction: Bows & Curtseys was previously released in Twists Of Tartan palette in the Tartan Tale collection) , and Groundcover. I already had Lucky Green so if you want to include that then it would be three. I am surprised I ended up getting Groundcover since I hate MAC matte's. They tend to be very hard to work with & their pigmentation is crappy. The other eye shadows were Fresh Daisy (frosty white), Free To Be (matte pink red), and lastly Aqua (matte light teal). I did not get Fresh Daisy because I find it to be a very generic color which can easily be duped. The reason I did not get Free To Be or Aqua is because they are matte and I did not care for the colors. Bows & Curtseys is a dark emerald green. The thing is in pictures it appears black even though it has an emerald green hint. A color I want to use with this is MAC Humid I think they would make a good combination (a green smoky look). Groundcover is a grey brown. I like this color for the outer    part of the eyelid, and the crease. Here are swatches of the two eye shadows I got:

Lipsticks: There were four lipsticks. Ever Hip was a re-promote. There was MLLE lipstick, which is a pale pink. The reason I did not get it is because it really washes you out. Another lipstick was Growing Trend which is a nude beige. The thing is I describe this lipstick as a kiss of death. It leaves your lips looking like you are dead. Summer Shower is a pretty sheer blue, teal, and purple shimmery lipstick. Ever Hip was a pretty pinky coral. (Note: Both Ever Hip & Summer Shower are sold out in maccosmetics.com) Here are swatches:

Beauty Powders: Two beauty powders came out with this collection. The two beauty powders are Alpha Girl, and Light Sunshine. Alpha Girl is a re-promote from the Heatherette Collection. It is a pretty light coral. To be quite frank though I wish it was a little more pigmented. Light Sunshine is a pale pink. I did not get this one because it would wash me out.
Alpha Girl

Lipgelees: Three lipgelees were released from this collection. I did not buy any of them. I was thinking of getting Budding Beauty but decided not to because I wanted the coral color to show up more. The other two were Now In Season, and Fashion Flower. The reason I did not get any was because they were to sheer and I would like them to show the base color a little more than just the glitter.
Overall: Any who I think this collection was okay. It had a lot of corals. If I could only get one thing it would be the Ever Hip lipstick. If you can get your hands on it I suggest you do because it is such a pretty color. I did not care much for the eye shadows since half of them were permanent. It is kind of irritating how each collection has so many permanent shades. I want to see new shades. Another thing they could have done is been more creative with the colors. I would have expected more bright and vibrant colors. I also wish they would have made the lipgelees more than just glitters. If they would have made them more pigmented I would have bought Budding Beauty. What did you think of this collection?

wetnwild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in "Spoiled Brat"

This is another trio from wetnwild, which came out with there 2011 collection. This one is in the shade 336 Silent Treatment. This palette has a silver, a black, and a pink.
It has three shades, all  of which are labeled but it does not mean you have to use them as it says,  it also has two eyeshadow applicators one of which is the traditional sponge tip applicator while the other is an angled brush.
Here are the swatches of this palette:
Without Flash:
With Flash:
I would describe the browbone shade as a peachy pink, while the crease shade is a sheer black with shimmer (this could be a sheerer dupe of MAC Black Tied Eyeshadow, I do not own it so I can't do a comparison), and the eyelid shade is a hot pink.

To be quite frank this is the palette I least like. The reason is I would only use it for a night look.I like palettes that offer a variety of looks & this one just gives dramatic (If used on its own).  Like most of the other color icon eyeshadow trios the brow bone shade is one I would not use there. Just like all the other wetnwild palettes it retails for $2.99. I do not recommend this to people who do not like colorful eyeshadows or who want a more subtle look. I would recommend this to someone who wants a more fun look.  I will post a look I created using this palette only soon.

wetnwild coloricon eyeshadow trio in "Silent Treatment"

This is another trio from wetnwild, which came out with there 2011 collection. This one is in the shade 335 Silent Treatment. This palette has two browns and a pink.
It has three shades, all  of which are labeled but it does not mean you have to use them as it says,  it also has two eyeshadow applicators one of which is the traditional sponge tip applicator while the other is an angled brush.
Here are the swatches of this palette:
Without Flash:
With Flash:
I would describe the browbone shade as a peachy pink, while the crease shade is a dark rich chocolate brown, and the eyelid shade is a brown taupe.

Unlike the other color icon palettes (well most of them) the brow bone shade is one I would actually use there. My favorite shade is the eyelid one. Some say the eyelid shade is similar to Mauvement pigment from MAC (if I remember I will do a post comparing them). Just like all the other wetnwild palettes it retails for $2.99. I do not recommend this to anyone who likes to use more colorful eyeshadows. I would recommend this to someone who wants a more neutral or smoky look.  I will post a look I created using this palette only soon.

Why You Shouldn't: Put Nail Polish Remover In Your Nail Polish!

Many times when you get  nail polish it will either have a very thick formula or will get thick after some time. When this occurs you end up having to thin it out. Some people will tell you to use nail polish remover. But I warn you DO NOT do it. See the thing is nail polish remover is not made to thin nail polish. It will end up damaging it. There was one day I was really freaking agitated from a nail polish & being lazy I went against my better judgment. Here are the results:
The formula ended up being really runny & I threw away the nail polish.

For those wondering this nail polish is Nina Ultra Pro in the shade Spun Sugar (Retails for $1.99 in Sally Beauty Supply)

What you are supposed to use on thick nail polish is nail polish thinner. This can be found in many beauty supply's & it is not very expensive. I ended up buying another Spun Sugar. But for those who are thinking of thinning their nail polish with nail polish remover think about it twice.

NARS ALERT! NARS In Marshalls?

Recently I went shopping trip with my mother to Marshall's. As I was passing the beauty aisle I found NARS makeup. As many of you know NARS is quite pricey, but all of it was on sale! They had mini lip glosses in a set, eyeshadow palettes, and other kinds of mixed sets. Any who for those of you who plan on going to Marshalls & like NARS you should check out the beauty aisle (I do not know if the Marshalls I went to is the only one but it is worth a shot).

Peppermint Candy Old Nail Of the Moment

Here is another old NOTM. I used Bettina Nail Enamel in the shade Peppermint (which is part of their Candy line). It is a pretty pastel baby blue. It is perfect color for Easter . . . . but I can't wear nail polish on my finger nails. From my knowledge Bettina is only available in Puerto Rico. It is really inexpensive & can be found in kmarts, walmarts, walgreens, & some beauty supply's.

NARS DUPE! MAC DUPE! wetnwild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in "I'm Getting Sunburned"

This is another trio from wetnwild, which came out with there 2011 collection. This one is in the shade 334 I'm Getting Sunburned. This palette has a pink, a brown & a coppery shade.
It has three shades, all  of which are labeled but it does not mean you have to use them as it says,  it also has two eyeshadow applicators one of which is the traditional sponge tip applicator while the other is an angled brush.
Here are swatches of the palettes:
Without Flash:
With Flash:
I would describe the highlight shade as a pearly pink, the crease shade as a rich chocolate brown, and the eyelid shade as a copper yellow.
As for Pigmentation: They have pretty good pigmentation. But warning the crease shade is very pigmented and needs to be used sparingly if not it ends up looking black.
As for the dupes:
As I was finalizing this post I realized the crease shade is a TOTAL dupe for NARS single eyeshadow Mekong. They are identical both in the pan, in swatches, & in photos. Here is a comparison in the pan:

Here are swatches:

Extra Bonus: I have heard people say this is a dupe to MAC's Amber Lights. For those wondering Amber Lights has a frost finish. Here is a comparison of the two shades:
 Without Flash:
With Flash:
Here are swatches of both shades:
 Without Flash:
With Flash:
For some odd reason in photos they end up looking identical. But in person MAC has a orange copper hint to it while wetnwild has a yellow hint to it. But who cares if in photos they look the same!
Overall: This palette is a GREAT value. You end up with two high end dupes and it truly competes quality wise. If you were to get the NARS eyeshadow MEKONG you would end up spending $25.00 (& that does not include the tax). If you get this palette it is just $2.99 & you get three shadows.

I will post a look I created using this palette only soon.
