elf Nail Polish Review

Here are my initial thoughts on elf nail polishes. I have two shades which are  in the shades "Mod Mauve" and "Royal Purple". Mod Mauve is just like it is called a taupe mauve color which  I would describe as a brown purple nail polish with pink undertones. While Royal Purple is a dark violet color with a lot of shimmer.

Initial Thoughts:
  1. Price: Very Inexpensive. They retail for a dollar but they have sales all the time so you can get them even cheaper. If you want to know when they are having sales I suggest signing up for their sales announcements. This can be found in their main page in the right corner of the bottom.
  2. Amount: These nail polishes bring .35 fl oz . These nail polishes  have more than wetnwild craze nail polish (.34 fl oz) and wetnwild megalast nail polish  (.30 fl oz). They also bring more than MAC nail lacquer (.34 fl oz), which retails for $13.00 .
  3. Website swatch: Is not good what so ever, it does not match.
  4. Pigmentation: It is not very opaque. It also needs more than one coat in order to show up.
Here are the swatches for these two nail polishes.

I will do a better review when I get to test them out more and in this review I will give more information on their lasting power.

Cherry Culture Haul

On cyber monday I decided to take advantage of the sale in Cherry Culture. There was a 20% off everything in the store. So here are the six things I got:

1. NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette (The Runway Collection) in the shade ESP10C09 Haute Model: This palette is all shimmery vibrant colors. It has neutrals, greens, purples, among others. Here is what it looks like:

If you want to see swatches of this palette click this link: Haute Model

2. NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette (The Runway Collection) in the shade ESP10C10 Bohemian Rhapsody: This is a neutral palette. It has different finishes which include: matte & shimmery. Here is what it looks like:
If you want to see swatches of this palette click this link: Bohemian Rhapsody

3. NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette (The Runway Collection) in the shade ESP10C11 Casting Call: This is another neutral palette. But it focuses more on dark colors. It also has different finishes and leans toward a smoky look. Here is what it looks like:
If you want to see swatches of this palette click this link: Casting Call

4. NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette (The Runway Collection) in the shade ESP10C12 Velvet Rope: This is a colorful palette. It focuses more on purple shades. It does not have many different finishes all of them are shimmery or satiny . Here is what it looks like:
If you want to see swatches of this palette click this link: Velvet Rope

5. NYX Powder Blush in PB24 Red: This is a pretty vibrant red blush. It is really pigmented. It is also a MAC dupe. It dupes MAC's Bite Of An Apple blush (which came out with the Venomous Villans Collection). If you put this blush sparingly and blend it will be an exact dupe. If not it will be a more intense red shade. I will show the comparison in a future post with all of the palette swatches. Here is what it looks like:

6. Jordana Blush Powder in the shade 12 Redwood: This is a pretty inexpensive blush. It is a shimmery pink coral color. In the picture you can kinda see a swatch on my index finger. Here is what it looks like:

So that is my small Cherry Culture haul.

Here is how to achieve this look:

    3. Using a round crease brush use MAC honey lust in your crease & drag it inwards to the outer part of your lid (Be careful when using this shade because it has glitters and leaves a lot of fall out too.)
    4. Get the club dupe in the night elf palette and put some in the outer part of the lid and in the outer corner (Make sure to blend)
    5. Getting NYX deep bronze apply it to the outer half of your lid and go over the club dupe

    elf Daily Brush Cleaner Review

I do not like this product. Here is an overview and review of it:

    Packaging:
First I have to mention when it got shipped out to me the box was all beat, which includes the box in which the order was in (two things came broken). Now on to the bottle it is not the worst but the pump does not spray effectively. Sometimes it will spray a good amount but other times it will spray almost nothing.  Other than that it is okay. It does not take a huge amount of space.

    How I used it:
I tried directly applying it to the brush but felt it was not getting cleaned very well (This is what they say you should do). I spray the product to a towel ( I used to use tissue but wanted to be a bit more environmentally friendly so I changed to face towels.) . I make sure there is a nice amount and do circular motions. If I see that there is still residue on the brush I do the same thing again.

    Product:
First off I have to mention I HATE the smell of it! I thought it was something I would get used to but no I did not. Since I dislike the smell I do not like how it smells on my brushes later. Secondly it does not clean my brushes very well. I do not expect it to deep clean but it did not even take away color residue, in the sense if I was to clean it in order to use another color after I can still get a little of the first color.

    Cost:
It is very inexpensive. As stated above it is just $3.00 regular price. But elf has sales all the time so you can get it cheaper. I bought this when there was a 60% off site wide. Considering that you are getting 8.4 oz you are getting a good amount for your money.

    Would I recommend it:
No! It just does not meet my exceptions. I have some other bottles, which I will never use. The thing is that I try to use this product but the smell prevents me from doing so. I could get over the smell if it cleaned well but it does not. For those wondering I have used 1/3 of it.  I really wanted to love it but it was just a big miss. On the other hand I do really enjoy the Brush Shampoo. It does clean my brushes pretty well and is also inexpensive (but compared to Baby Shampoo it is not giving you much bang for your buck) What is your favorite daily brush cleaner?

    Personal Experience: Eyelash Extension Review

So on October 31 when I went to the beauty show (San Juan Beauty Show). I decided to do eyelash extensions. I had been wanting to do it for a long time. I had originally planned to get it down much later but I decided to get it done their since I thought it was a good price.

    Application:
They first cleaned my lashes with a baby wipe in order to remove any  oil or makeup I had (talk about bad choice for makeup removal). Then they combed my eyelashes in order to separate them. They then grabbed false lashes and put some glue on them ( Unlike regular false lashes glue this one is different and is supposed to last longer). After the glue is applied the lash extension is applied directly to your lashes. The thing is I think they did it wrong. They had nothing separating my bottom lashes from the top so the glue would sometimes get stuck. BOY did it hurt when they separated the bottom lashes from the glue. Other than that it did not hurt.

    Appearance:
They did not look full. It looked like an amateur put four to five individual lashes. It was really obvious. They stuck out like sour thumbs. My other issue is there was not transition thus making it very obvious. So you can get an idea of how bad they looked here is a picture. Do you see how two stick out and look really unnatural?

    Cost:
One of the main reasons I got it done in the place I did was because of the cost. I have seen that in many places it is $80, $100 or more. Since I was in a beauty expo all the booths had specials. One was offering to do it for $40.00 . I was considering doing it else where but was to lazy and thought the price was a great. (Lesson: Cheap things sometimes will really cost you) So I ended up doing it there. Note: If you are going to pay less but get really crappy quality it is better to pay a little more and get your money's worth.

    Endurance:
They did not last. On the same day I got them done some fell out. I followed every rule they told me. I did not use anything with oil, I did not curl my lashes, or apply mascara. The other thing that bugged me was that my natural lashes sometimes came out with the extensions. They fixed them the next day but I still had the issue of them lasting. They still fell out the same day. While they said it would last up to two months with proper care one of the technicians said it would last two weeks. My issue is that if I would have known it lasts up to two weeks for $40.00 I would totally skipped and gone to another place to get it done.

    Overall  Experience:
I would not suggest to get the lashes done where I did.  I might try it again in another place but for now I am fine with my natural lashes. I have seen pictures of people who have gotten it done in other places and it looks really pretty and natural. What I suggest if you decide to get eye lash extensions is research the place you are getting it done. Make sure they are professional and ask how long it will last. If it is possible ask them to show you some of there work. If I would have had more time to found out I probably would not have gotten it done where I did and would most likely have had a better experience.

Side note: Please remember that this is just my personal experience. This does not mean that you will have the same experience even though it could occur.
